Russell Dodd has worked in horticulture for more than 25 years, after leaving school he started work in the family business in Dalton-in-Furness this was a small garden centre and nursery specialising in hardy plants. He gained a wide range of horticultural skills and plant knowledge over this time and also studied at Newton Rigg College, Penrith.

After this the garden centre expanded and moved to Ulverston, here he worked for 15 years on the outdoor plant section at Hill Foot Garden Centre buying and selling plants to retail customers, over this time he gained a wealth of knowledge and understanding on plant varieties, habits, soil requirements etc. He studied the botanical plant names for the plants sold and now is able to identify and name over 1000 plants.

Russell started designing gardens at an early age and has exhibited for the past 20 years creating display show gardens that have won top horticultural awards including 3 large gold medals, 5 gold medals, best in show and best walk through garden at the Holker Hall Garden Festival. He has extensive experience in the design and construction of gardens of all sizes having landscaped well over 400 gardens in the Furness area including traditional English, modern and contemporary, oriental and Japanese, Mediterranean, wildlife, low maintenance, cottage and many more styles.

Russell is supported by a skilled team of gardeners, whose work always reflects his exacting standards in providing the very best gardening and landscaping service.
